Certificate of slaves was recorded on 11 July 1815. J. T. Justine states that on or before 5 March 1815, he brought from Frederick Co. Virginia a certain Mulatto girl named Sophi re M[e]ria, age about 14 years, to George Town in the District of Columbia. He states that "Sophire is a native of Virginia and was removed to George Town for my own use and not for sale." This document is addressed to William Brent, E.C. of the Circuit Court of the District of Columbia for the Co. of Washington.
