Abstract

Bill of sale was recorded on 20 October 1819. Ignatius Newton of George Town in the District of Columbia is indebted to Zedechia Kidwell of Fairfax Co., Virginia for $550 on a bond of the same date and wants to secure the payment by transferring in trust the following property to Zedechia Kidwell: a Negro woman named Nancy age about 22 and her two children Charles and Ben. But if Ignatius Newton does not pay $550, plus interest, by 29 January 1820, then Zedechia Kidwell may sell, at public auction to the highest bidder, Nancy and her children, giving ten days notice in some public newspaper published in George Town. Signed on 29 July 1819 by Ignatius Newton.
