Abstract

Deed of trust was recorded on 8 June 1820. Henry N. Jones of Fairfax Co., Virginia, for $300, sells to Cornelius Wells of Washington Co., District of Columbia, in trust for Harriet R. Jones, wife of Henry N. Jones, the following goods and chattels: a Negro woman named Jenny and her two children Judison and Penny and the future issue of the female slaves Jenny and Penny, a Negro man named Affrica, three horses, a wagon and two long boats. All are for the use and benefit of Harriet R. Jones for her maintenance and support. It is also stated that "Harriet R. Jones may hereafter sell or otherwise dispose of all, or any parts, of the above granted goods and chattels by and with the advise and consent of Cornelius Wells and Henry N. Jones." Signed on 15 December 1819 by Henry N. Jones, Cornelius Wells and Harriet R. Jones.
