At the request of Leonard Scott the bill of sale was recorded on 31 October 1801. Leonard Scott, a free black man of Annapolis, Maryland, paid a consideration of $100 to Joseph S. Belt of Washington Co., District of Columbia for a Negro girl named Lucy aged about 14 years.
