At request of Joseph Rowles the following certificate of slaves was recorded on 24 March 1803. Negro man 42 years of age named Sepe [or Iepe] and a Negro girl 11 years of age named Elizabeth Ann; "both received by marriage with Mrs. Hanna E. Fitzhugh of Fairfax Co., Virginia and brought into the District of Columbia for my use and not for sale."
