Certificate of slavery was recorded on 2 June 1808. Tunis Craven states that he brought from Virginia a Negro boy slave named Charles, about seven years old for his own use and not for sale.
Manumission was recorded on 2 June 1808. Bartholomew Poston of Washington Co. in the District of Columbia "in consideration of serving my wife Henney and myself and the survivor of us" in 21 months from the date of this document will release from slavery a Negro man named Jesse age about 27. Signed on l June 1808 by Bartholomew Poston.
