Know all men by these presents that I William Dick have for and in Consideration of the sum of two Thousand Dollars to me in hand paid by Obediah Dick the Receipt whereof I do hereby Acknowledge and thereof Exonerate and acquit the Sd. [said] Obediah Dick his Heirs executors and administrators have this day bargained Sold and Delivered and by these presents do bargain Sell and Deliver unto the Said Obediah Dick one Negroe man Named Joe a Negroe woman Named Amy a Negroe boy named George and a Negroe boy named Jack and the Child of Amy named Allen which five Negroes Slaves for Life I Warrant and Defend from the Lawfull Claim of all manner of Person or persons unto the Sd. [said] Obediah Dick his Heirs and assigns for Ever. In Witness whareof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this 22nd day of January 1810.
