Know all men by these presents that I, Charles Mills, of the County of Rockingham and the State of North Carolina have bargained and sold and by these do grant, bargain and sell upon release and confirm unto Adam Mitchel of the County of Guilford and state aforesaid one Negro boy slave by the name of Monday, aged about twelve years for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred and eighty Spanish milled dollars to be me in hand paid by the said Mitchel. The receipt whereof is hereby granted and I for myself my heirs, administrators, executors and assigns do warrant and defend the right of the said negroe boy slave from myself, my heirs executors and assigns from all and every other person and likewise do warrant the Sd. negro boy slave to be sound and healthy both in body and mind, and clear from any impediment whatever as witness my hand and seal. This 19th day of February 1812. State of North Carolina, Guilford County. Charles Mills acknowledges the execution of the within bill of sale in open court and on motion ordered to be registered.
