This deed Executed this 18th of March Between Archibald Wilson of the one part of the County of Guilford and State of North Carolina and Hance McCain of the County and State afs. [aforesaid] of the other part witnesseth that whereas the Said Archibald Wilson Stands Lawfully indebted to Robert and thirty Six Dollars Sixteen Cents Money of the United States and being desirous to Secure to him the Same with the Interest arising therein in Consideration whereof and the Sum of five Shillings to him in hand paid by the said Hance McCain his heirs the Said Archibato Wilson hath Bargained Sold and Delivered and By these presents doth Bargain Sell and Deliver his Negro woman Eff and her child Ben also his negro Woman Amy to the said Hance McCain his Heirs and assigns in Trust and for the following uses and purposes that is to say that if the Said Archibald Wilson Shall Fail to pay the said Sum of $336.17 with Lawfull Interest from the date of this Deed it shall be Lawfull for the said Hance McCain his Executor Administrator or assigns after going Ten days publick Notice to Sell and Dispose of for Ready Money the Aforesaid Negroe woman Eff and her child Ben and the aforesaid Negro woman Amy and to pay this money so raised to the said Robert Lindsay his heirs deceased or so much as will be sufficient to satisfy the before mentioned debt and interest and the remainder if any there be shall be returned to the said Archibald Wilson after Deducting the Cost of Sale and Shall the said Archibald Wilson pay to the Said Robert Lindsay his Heirs and the Said Sum of $336:17 with interest as aforesaid on or Before the first day of December Next insuing the Date hereof then and in that case this deed shall Cease and become Void and of No effect or otherwise Remain in full force and Virtue in Testimony whereof the said Archibald Wilson hath hereunto set his Hand and Seal this day and year above written.
