Know all men by these (unknown) that we David Harrell and William Thing of the County of Guilford and State of North Carolina have bargained sold and delivered unto Joshua Lee of this County and State afs. Two thirds of a Negro boy named Tom for the Consideration of the sum of seventy Dollars to the S. David Harrell and William Thing in hand paid by the S. Joshua Lee which Right and title to the S. Negro we the S. David Harrell and William Thing do warrant and for ever defend free and clear from the legal and lawful Claim of any Person whatsoever as (unknown) are hand and seals this 2 day of March 1810.
