Know all men by these presents that I Lloyd Evans of the County of Guilford and State of North Carolina fo and in consideration of the sum of three hundred and fifty dollars to me in hand paid by Andrew Lindsay of the County and state aforesaid. The right of which is hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the stated Andrew Lindsay his heirs and assigns forever one female Negro Slave named Merryene between sixteen and seventeen years old to have and to hold this female slave named Merryene and her offspring unto him the stated Andrew Lindsay his heirs and assigns forever and the Stated Lloyd Evans for himself and his heirs doth by these presents warrant and defend the right and title of Stated Negro unto the stated Andrew Lindsay his heirs and assigns against the claim or claims of any person or persons whatsoever. In witness whereof I the stated Lloyd Evans have subscribed my hand and offer my seal this nineteenth day of February 1813.
