Know all men by these presents that I John Stroud of Orange County and State aforesaid for and in consideration of the Sum of Two hundred and twenty five Dollars to me in hand paid by Paul Coble of the State and County aforesaid have Bargained and sold unto said Paul Coble a Certain negro girl about eight years old by the Name of Esther which Negro girl I warrant and Defend from all Lawful Claims whatsoever in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this third day of December 1813.
