Know all men by these presents that I, Christian Clapp, of the County of Guilford and State of North Carolina for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred and fifty dollars to him in hand paid for so served to be paid by Isaac Clapp of the County and State of the receipt whereof I the Sd. Christian Clapp do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained sold and delivered and by these presents do give grant bargained sold and delivered unto the Sd. Isaac Clapp his heirs, executors and assigns, two negroes, one boy named Ishmael sixteen years old the other a woman named Amy forty years old to have and to hold the Sd. negroes forever. I the Sd. Christian Clapp will warrant and forever defend the right and title of Sd. negroes Ishameal and Amy from myself my heirs executors and assigns and from every other person or persons claiming or to claim Sd. negroes Ishmael and Amy unto the Sd. Isaac Clapp his heirs and assigns forever. And further I the Sd. Christian Clapp will warrant the Sd. negroes Ishmael and Amy to be healthy sound negroes in witness whereof I the Sd. Christian Clapp have hereunto set my hand and seal this first day of July A.D. 1814.
