Know all men by these presents that I John Galbreath sent of the county of Guilford and state of North Carolina for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars to me in hand paid by Nancy Galbreath of the county and state of aforesaid have bargained and sold and by these virtues of these presents do bargain sell over and confirm unto her the said Nancy Galbreath one negroe girl named Elsea which said negroe girl I have sold and delivered unto the and Nancy Galbreath and I John Galbreath Sr. do for myself and heirs administrators and assigns warrant and for ever defend the and negroe girl to the and Nancy Galbreath to her or her heirs executors administrators and assigns to have for her proper use and benefit whareof I have set my hand and seal this nineteenth day of November 1812.
