Know all men by these presents that I Thomas Cimmins of the County of Guilford and State of N. Carolina for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars to me in hand paid by Edward Cimmins, my grandson of Robert Cummins the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged. I have granted, bargained, and sold and by these presents doth given grant bargain sell and confirm unto the said Edward Cummins my grandson one negro boy by the name of Auston which Negroe Auston is to return in the service of my daughter Rachel during her natural life but the said negroe Auston is not to be moved out of the county of Guilford and if an attempt should be made to move the said negroe boy then and in that case my grandson Edward may seize upon his negro boy Auston and take him into possession as his property in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifteenth of August in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and eight
