Know all men by these presents that I, John Wright of the County of Guilford in the State of North Carolina for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars to me by James Wright in hand paid have bargained sale and delivered unto the hand of James Wright one Negro Man Slave aged about twenty two years called and known by the name of Tom together with one mare, four head of cattle two sheep and one feather bed and furniture and I, the said John Wright to warrant and defend by these presents the property aforesaid to the said James Wright his Heirs and assigns for ever against all and every other person whomsoever. In witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal this first day of September 1807. Eighteen hundred and seven.
