Know all men by these present that I Ralph Gorell of the County of Guilford and State of North Carolina for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred and twenty five dollars to me in hand paid by George Nicks Jr. have bargained sold and delivered unto the stated Nicks one negro man named Pemp aged twenty seven years old or their abouts, the right of which negro. I the stated Gorrell will forever warrant from myself and my heirs unto the stated Nicks and his heirs as witness my hand and seal this 1st of December 1815.
