Know all men by these presents that I John Goodman of the County of Randolph and state of North Carolina of the one part and Ephraim Burrow of Guilford County of the other part witnesseth that I the said John Goodman for the sum one hundred and twenty five pounds in hand paid hath given granted bargained and sold unto Ephraim Burrow a certain Negro woman named Lady and her son Alford. I John Goodman do lend myself my heirs and assigns to warrant and defend the wright and title of the said Lady and her child Alford against myself my heirs executors and administrators and against all persons or persons whatsoever as witness my hand and seal this twenty third day of August Eighteen hundred and thirteen.
