Know all men by these present that I John Hamilton of the County and State aforesaid have this day bargained and sold to Joseph Davis a certain negro salve known by the name of Jo for and in Consideration of the sum of seven hundred dollars to me in hand paid by the said Joseph Davis for and in Consideration of which I do for ever warrant and defend the right of and claims to the said Davis his heirs and assigns for ever given under my hand and seal this eighth day of December 1816.
