Know all men by these presents that I James Corvell of the County of Guilford and State of N. Carolina for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred dollars to me in hand paid by John Hanner of the County and State aforesaid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have bargain sold and delivered unto the said John Hanner a certain Negro man named Peter which Negro I warrant and to be sound and healthy and do by these presents warrant and defend the right of said negro who is now of the ago twenty four years unto the said John Hanner unto his heirs and assigns for ever from the lawfull claim or claims of all and every person or persons whomsoever. In witness where of I have hereunto set any hand and seal this 19th day of March AD 1818.
