Know all men by these grants that George Jennings of Guildford County in State of North Carolina for and in Consideration of the sum of eight hundred dollars to me in hand paid by John Walker at and before the ensealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have bargained sold and delivered and by these presents do bargain sell and deliver unto the stated John Walker a certain negro fellow called Pompy to have and to hold the said Negro fellow Pompy unto the said John Walker his heirs executors administrators and assigns to his and their only proper use benefit and behoof forever and I the said George Jennings my heirs executors and administrators the said bargained properties unto the said John Walker his executors administrators and assigns from and against all persons and persons whomsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In witness I have here unto set my hand and seal this sixteenth day of October 1817.
