To all people whom these presents shall come greeting I William Magee of North Carolina and county of Guilford know ye that I the stated William Magee for and in consideration of the sum of natural love and affection I have and bear unto my beloved daughter Lucy Brasher of the State and County aforesaid for diverse other good causes and considerations me hereunto moving have given and granted and by these presents do give and grant unto the stated Lucy Brasher during her natural line one negro girl slave known by the name of Athey and after her death the stated Negro girl Athey and her issue to belong to my three grandchildren Nancy Norton Polly Walker Brasher and Jimenia Franklin Brasher to have and and enjoy the said Negro girl Athy unto the said Lucy Brasher Nancy Norton Polly Walker Brasher and Jimenia Frankiln Brasher their heirs executors administrators and assigns in manner aforementioned to the only proper use and behoof of the stated Lucy Brasher Nancy Norton Polly Walker Brasher and Jimenia Franklin Brasher their executors administrators and assigns for ever and I the stated William Magee all and singular the aforesaid Negro to the stated Lucy Brasher Nancy Norton Polly Walker Brasher and Jimenia Frankiln Brasher their heir executors administrators and assigns against all persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend the just title of the aforesaid negro girl against all persons whomsoever in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 13th day of February 1813. }
