To all people to whome these presents shall may come. I Philip Horney Sr. Manlove Horney,Jeffrey Horney, and Philip Horney Junior of the County of Guilford and State of North Carolina send greeting. Know ye that we the above mentioned for and in consideration of the Natural Love and affection which we have and do bear towards our kind folk, David and Margaret S. Field of the County and state aforesaid Do freely give and grant to the above mentioned kind folk, all singularly our Right in one Mulattoe girl (viz) Dice and all future lineage to have and to hold forever or their heirs, executors, administrators, or assigns and we the above mentioned Philip Horney Senior Manlow Horney, Jefferey Horny, and Philip Horney Junior do warrant and forever defend the right of the above mentioned Mulattoe girl and her increase to be had and in joyed freely by the above mentioned David L. and Margaret S. Field their heirs, executors, administers, and assigns. In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals, this day in the year of our lord.
William Robbins came into open court and on oath declares that he saw Philip Horney, Sam Horney, and Jeffery Horney sign seal and deliver the within bill of sale for the purposes therein mentioned some time in the fore part of the year one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven and subscribed in open court.
Pamela B Horney came into open court and on oath declares that she saw Philip Horney, Junior sign seal and deliver the within bill of sale for the purposes therein mentioned in the latter part of the year of eighteen hundred and twenty seven to and subscribed in open court.
