Know all men by these presents that I Caleb Hillman of the county of Guilford and State of North Carolina have for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred and fifty dollars at fair and open sale bargained sold and delivered to James Donnell of the County and State aforesaid one negroe woman slave Ell and child named Ann the negro woman Ell aged twenty four years and the negro girl Ann aged five years and I do hereby bind myself my heirs and to warrant to the said James Donnell that the aforesaid slaves Ell and her child Ann are sound and will in health and free from any incumbrances either in law or equity whatsoever in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 30th day of March 1820.
