Know all men by these presents that I Moore McCulley of Orange County and Jacob Boon of the county of Guilford and State of North Carolina of the one part and John Gerringer of the County of Guilford and State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said Moore McCulley and Boon for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars to me in hand paid have bargained sold and do by these presents grant bargain sell and confirm unto the said John Garenger one negroe boy named Nick about fifteen years old which negro boy Nick I warrant and For ever defend against the claims or claims of any person or persons whatsoever unto the said John Garenger I warrant the boy Nick to be a sound healthy boy I Moore McCulley and Boon do warrant and Defend the write and title of the aforesaid boy from myself my heirs and assigns for ever to the said John Garenger in witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this the 7th day of January AD 1823.
