Know all men by these presents that I Henry Harrell of the County of Guilford and State of North Carolina for and in consideration of the sum of fifty Dollars to me in hand paid by Robert C. Rankin at and before the signing and sealing of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have this day bargained sold and delivered and doe by these presents bargain sell and deliver unto the said Robert C. Rankin all my right title and interest that I have or may have in and to the stock or family of negroes willed by Henry Lee deceased to his daughter Elizabeth Harrell during her life time and after her death over to her children and I do warrant and defend my right and title to said property to the said Robert C. Rankin his his heirs executors administrations and assigns for ever against mu self all claiming under by or through me and against the claim of all other persons whatsoever and I further covenant promise and agree to make and and execute any other or further title to said property to the said Robert C. Rankin his heirs or assigns which may become necessary in completing this his title to the said property and I further authorize and empower the said Robert C. Rankin to institute and carry on a suit or suits in my name to recover said property and get possession thereof and I promise and agree to stand to and abide by and therefore perform whatever my said attorney Rankin may lawfully do in the premises.
