Know all men by these presents that I Henry King of the County of Guilford and State of North Carolina have sold unto John Vonstore Senior a negro man named Nathan which said negro I warrant and defend to be a sound healthy negro and the right and title hereof against me, my heirs and every claim warrant whatsoever as a slave for the sum of five hundred and fifty dollars to me in hand paid the receipt hereof I fully acknowledge witness my hand and seal this 18th day of September AD 1820.
