Know all men by these presents that Allen Woodburn of the County of Guilford and State of North Carolina have bargained sold and delivered unto Eli Hanner of the same county and state a negro boy named Daniel aged fourteen years for the sum of four hundred dollars to me Allen Woodburn on hand paid by the Said Eli Hanner the title of which boy I warrant and defend unto the said Hanner from all and every person having a legal claim thereunto. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 18th of Nov. 1823.
The condition of the above Bill of sale are such that if Allen Woodburn doth pay or cause to be paid to Eli Hanner the sum of four hundred dollars and to be paid in two years from the 25th of December next and two hundred dollars not to bear interest until the 25th December 1825 and then lawful interest until paid for the whole the above payment being made the above bill of sale to be void and of no effect otherwise to stand and remain in full force and virtue. Witness my hand and seal this 18th of November 1823.
