For the consideration of six hundred and seventy five dollars twelve and a half cents to me in hand paid by Edmond Bowman of the County of Guilford in the State of North Carolina the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged I Allen Peebles by these presents as guardian of the heirs of the sale Ruchin Vaughan Deceased have sold to the highest bidder and delivered to the said Edmond Bowman a certain negro woman named Dolly and two children unice and green slaves for life to him and his heirs the title of the above slaves I bend myself my heirs executors and administrators to warrant and forever defend against the just claim of any person or persons whatsoever witness my hand and seal this this twentieth day of January eighteen hundred and twenty four.
