Know all men by these presents that we Elizabeth McCuistion, William McCuistion, Thomas Rankin, Levin Couth and Elizabeth Bruce of the County of Guilford and State of North Carolina for and in Consideration of the sum Two hundred Dollars to us in hand paid by Martin Weatherly at or Before the delivery of these presents the receipt whereof we do hereby Acknowledge we have bargained sold and Delivered unto the said Martin Weatherly a Certain Negro girl named Vina aged between eight and nine years old to have and to hold unto the said Martin Weatherly by his heirs executors, administrators, and assigns for ever and we the Said Elizabeth McCuistion, William McCuistion, Thomas Rankin, Levin Couth and Elizabeth Bruce for ourselves or executors and administrators do warrant and defend the right of the said negro girl unto the said Martin Weatherly his executors administrators or assigns against us the said Elizabeth McCuistion, William McCuistion, Thomas Rankin Levin Couth and Elizabeth Bruce our executors, administrators or assigns and against all and every other person and persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents in witness whereof we have set our hands and affized our seals this ninth day of July A.D. 1823.
