Know all men by the presents that I Thomas L. Douglas of Williamson County and State of Tennessee Attorney and Agent for John McGee of Smith County and State of Tennessee of the one part and Esther McGee and John Kirkman of Guilford County and State of North Carolina of the other part. Witness, that the said Thomas L. Douglas for and in consideration of one Negro girl named Han the right whereof is conveyed the said John McGee and the delivery whereof the said Douglass doth hereby acknowledge hath bargained, sold, and conveyed and by these presents doth bargain, sell, and convey to the said Esther McGee and John Kirkman one Negro Woman named Pell and her infant child now seven weeks old, also one Negro boy named Washington, to them the said Esther McGee and John Kirkman their heirs Executor's administrators and assigns forever and the said Thomas L. Douglas as Attorney and Agent for the Said John McGee his heirs Executor's administrators and assigns doth hereby warrant and defend the said Negros Poll and her infant child, and Washington, and against the claim or claims of all persons whatever to them the said Esther McGee and John Kirkman their heirs and assigns forever. In witness whereof the said Thomas L. Douglas hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal this 29th day of June 1824.
