Know all men by these presents that I John M. Morehead by virtue of a deed of trust to me executed by Joseph Davis and his wife sally bearing date 11th November 1822 and of record in the County of Guilford N.C. for the purpous therein specified in said trust unto Samuel Donnel one negro girl named Patsey aged about 12 years at the price of three hundred and twenty light dollars the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and I do hereby convey and transfer unto the said Samuel Donnel all the right title and interest in and to said negro Patsey which vested in me by virtue of said Deed of Trust. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 16th November 1824.
