This indenture and writing made this 22nd day of November in the year of Christ one thousand eight hundred and twenty-four Between Hamilton C. Davis of the county of Guilford and State of North Carolina of the one part and John M. Morehead of the County and State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said Hamilton C. Davis being indebted to William Ryan surviving executor of John Hamilton Deceased of the County of Guilford and state aforesaid the sum of nine hundred and four dollars and fourty five cents by a bond baring date the 18th November 1824 for the sum of nine hundred four dollars and forty five cents which bond William McCain and John Thompson is security for the payment thereof to the said William Ryan surviving executor as aforesaid and being desirous of securing to the said William McCain and John Thompson (securities as aforesaid) the aforesaid sum of nine hundred four dollars and forty five cents as well as all or pay other debts dues or demands which the said Hamilton C. Davis may justly give to the said William Ryan (where the said William McCain and John Thompson is bound as security) at or before the sale aforesaid and the balance if any shall be paid to the said Hamilton C. Davis by the said John M. Morehead after deducting all expenses of conveying this deed into effect and if the proceeds of the said sale shall not be sufficient in amount to satisfy the said debts dues or demands (as aforesaid) then the said John M. Morehead shall give to the said Hamilton C. Davis credit against the said debts dues or demands to the amount of the proceeds of said sale. In testimony whereof the said Hamilton C.
