Know all persons by these presence that I William Ogburn of the County of Guilford And State of N. Carolina have bargained and Sold unto James W. Doak of Said County and State aforesaid, Two Negroes named Jacob and Selah, for the Sum of Two hundred and fifty Dollars which Negroes I warrant to be well and Sound as far as I know also I warrant And Defend the rights and Titles as well as Vallue of Said Negroes against all Claims rights and Titles of myself my heirs and every other person forever unto the Said James W. Doak his heirs and assigns Given Under my hand and Seal this 13th day of October 1824.
