Know all men by these presents that I Reuben Dick of the County of Guilford and state of North Carolina for and in consideration of being released from a contract I had heretofore entered into to Support and Clothe Nancy Galbreath during her natural life and the further consideration of one dollar to me in hand paid by the said Nancy Galbreath the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged I the said Reuben Dick doth Grant Bargain and sell unto the Said Nancy Galbreath and, her assigns a certain negro woman slave named Alse to have and to hold the said Negro Woman Alse and her increase unto the Said Nancy Galbreath and her assigns forever and I the Said Reuben Dick for myself my executors administrators will forever warrant and defend the title of the Said Negro woman Alse to the said Nancy Galbreath and her assigns against myself and all the other persons claiming by or throught me. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 5th day of October A.D. 1825.
