Know all men by these presents that I Eggleston Overbey of Mecklenburg County and State of Virginia and Benjamin Suddath and John Williamson of Guilford County and State of North Carolina of the one part and John Garrenger of the County of Guilford and State of North Carolina of the other part witnesseth that the said Eggleston Overbey and said Benjamin Suddath and John Williamson for a consideration of the sum of two hundred and Eighty Dollars to us in hand hand paid have bargained sold and do by theas presents grant bargain sell and confirm unto the said John Garrenger one negro woman by the name of Lishah about twenty one years of age which negro we wharrant and defend against the claim or claimes of all and every persons or persons we wharrant and defend the write and title from our selves our heirs and assigns for ever unto the said John Garrenger to him his heirs and assigns for ever. I Eggleston Overbey do wharrant this negrow woman Lishah to be a sound harty healthy negrow clear of all disorders or sickness of any kind in witness whereof we have hereunto seat our hands and seals this the 9th day of March A.D. 1824.
