Know all men by these presents that I John McClintock Senior of the County of Guilford, State of North Carolina out of the affection which I have and offer for my grandson John Thompson Junior of the County and State aforesaid have given granted unto the said John Thompson a Certain Negroe man named Joseph to the use of the Said John and his heirs forever and I the said John McClintock Sr. doth hereby forever Warrant and Defend the Property of the said Negro to the said John against the Lawful claim or claims of all persons whatsoever. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the 5th day of April 1803.
