Know all men by these presents that I, James McCawley of Guilford County and State of North Carolina have Bargained and Sold and Delivered and by these Doth Bargain Sell and Deliver under Andrew Gariner of the State and County afs. [aforesaid] one Negro Boy Named Relsik for and In Consideration of the Sum of four hundred Dollars to me in hand paid by the Sd. [said] Andrew Garinger and I the Sd. [said] James McCalley for myself my heirs Extrs [Executors] and Admrs [Administrators] do by these presents warrant the Rights and Title of the Sd. [said] Negro boy Relsik unto him the Sd. [said] Andrew Garinger his heirs Extrs [Executors] and Admrs [Administrators] against Claim Right Title Interest or Demand of all persons whatsoever as free and Clear of all Incumbrances and as a fine and Sound Negro and Shall and will warrant and Acquit and by these presents forever Defend the Sd. [said] Negro from me my heirs forever In witnesseth where I have set my hand fixed my Seal this fifth day of April in the year of our Lord 1808.
