Ran away

RAN AWAY ON the 20th of November last, a Negro man named MOREDECAI, about 28 years old, black complexion, about five feet high, very stout, has large limbs, one of his eye lids has been cut, and sometimes his eyes are very red; had when he went away, his last winter's black woolen jacket and breeches, a shirt and trousers, a pair of double soled shoes. On the 26th of December he was seen in the neighborhood of Connaconnary church, and on the first of January in the back of Deep creek, near Wm.[William] Whitehead's. He has some acquaintance at Hilliard's quarter in the Meadows, at Bryant's Cross Roads and in that neighbourhood. All persons are cautioned from concealing him or carrying him off. He has lived at my river place 5 years. I will give a generous Reward to any person that will deliver to me the said Negro, or secure him in any jail. Elias Foort. Halifax county. Jan 17, 1806. 4w
