$50 REWARD.

$50 REWARD. RAN AWAY from the subscriber living in the upper part of Halifax county, on the 23rd ultimo, a negro man named NATHANIEL. Nathaniel is a very black negro, with a high forehead, about 35 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, and well proportioned--no marks or clothing recollected--Nathaniel was raised in or near the town of Halifax--where I purchased him in 1831 of J R J Daniel, Esq. I have no doubt but he is lurking about Halifax where he has many acquaintances, or up about Raleigh where I understand his master lives. I will pay the above reward if he is taken and confined in any Jail out of the State or delivered to me, or $25 if confined in any Jail in the State so that I get him again. ISHAM MATTHEWS. September 15, 1841. 38 4w.
