$25 Reward. THE Mayor of the Town of Clarksville hereby offers the above Reward for the apprehension, securing and delivery of THOS. [Thomas] W. JAMES, (a free man of color,) in Clarksville, if taken without the limits of the County of Mecklenburg ; and the sum of Ten Dollars will be paid for the same service, if the said JAMES shall be taken within the aforesaid County. He was detected pilfering from one of our Merchants and escaped ; after which, a search was made in his house, and goods to the amount of several hundred dollars found and identified. He is about six feet high--walks nimbly and perfectly erect--of restless expression of countenance ; dark copper complexion ; and when talking deliberately, lisps very slightly. He appears to be about thirty-five years of age, and is by trade a House ad Sign Painter. He is a negro of remarkable intelligence, and reads and writes well. H. WOOD, Mayor.
