TAKEN UP And committed to the Jail of Mecklenburg county, on the 6th March, three Negro Men, calling their names JOHN, SONKEY and COEY, wh0[sic] say they belong to Dr. Beverly Reece of Dinwiddie county, Va. John and Sonley are about 5 feet 7 inches high; Coey is about 5 feet 6 inches high--supposed to be about 30 years old--all black and heavy built. Coey's right leg is strained and stands out. The owner of these Negroes must come forward, prove property, pay charges and take them away, or they will be dealt with as the law directs. C. WILSON, Jailor. March 27, 1865. tf
