Abstract

Joseph Woodruff informs the Senate that "by the Will of his Father he is entitled to the following negro slaves, to wit, Nero, Smart, Sharper, Sylvia, Phoebe, & her five children and Cate & her four children." Citing that said slaves "are now in the state of Georgia," the petitioner prays that he may be permitted "to bring his negroes into this state to be employed on a Plantation," where he intends to reside.
