Thomas Paramour states that "while Lord Dunmore with his Fleet lay in Chesapeake Bay, a Negro Man, by the name of Aaron -- the property of your petitioner was apprehended making his escape to the Enemy." Paramour reports that the Committee of Safety ordered Aaron "to the Lead Mines, where he has continued ever Since." Having "not received any pay for the Service of the Slave," the petitioner prays that Aaron be "suffered to return" and that he be given "such allowance for his past Services as shall be thought just & reasonable."
