They aver that they were sold to Adam Rose and illegally transported from Virginia to the District of Columbia.  In a previous petition to the Circuit Court, they obtained an injunction to prevent Rose from removing them from the District of Columbia before their petitions could be heard.  Gassaway complains that despite the ruling of the court, Rose's wife and other \"evil disposed persons\" have attempted to remove him and his wife beyond the jurisdiction of the court and threatened him with \"grievous bodily harm.\"  Gassaway fears that his wife, Charity, is in \"imminent danger of being abducted.\"  He requests the court to order them into the custody of the Marshal of the District of Columbia to be imprisoned.","subjects":[{"subject":"Sues for freedom (enslaved)"},{"subject":"Jails\/Workhouses"},{"subject":"Family kept together (Black)"}]}]}
