Petition #20881724

Abstract

Alexander Milne, petitioning for himself and for Claude Irénée, presents to the court that he and Irénée are testamentary executors of the late widow Baptandier's succession. He further presents that, as executors, he and Irénée have been "directed and authorized," by the last Baptandier's last will and testament, to emancipate a slave in the estate, a man named Cupidon, who is "of the age of thirty years and upwards." Milne declares that, for the last four years, Cupidon has "led a correct life," has not run away, and has not been guilty of committing any crime. He therefore asks the court to "give orders" for the sheriff to make the "notification usual in such case."
