Abstract
Joseph Patuzzo asks the court to submit to the Police Jury his request to emancipate his ten-year-old slave, a male mulatto boy named Voltaire, also known as Dominique. Patuzzo presents that he has very recently purchased Voltaire from Mrs. Eugénie Grima Sabatier, by an act of sale specifying that Voltaire should be emancipated immediately after completion of the transaction. Patuzzo vouches that Voltaire has a good nature, and is obedient and respectful [Original in French and English].
