James McHenry Boyd, executor of the estate of John Larkin Dorsey, asks the court to record his account of his activities as administrator. Dorsey's will stipulated that Boyd take out "Short Letters Testamentary; whereby your petitioner was deprived of the comfort and Security of acting under the direction of the court," resulting in the fact that there was no inventory of the estate and his activities were not recorded "under the usual Sanction of the Orphans Court." Boyd therefore believes that it would be in his best interest to have a "summary of his administration proceedings" recorded. The account records cite expenditures for outfitting and transporting the slaves of the estate to Liberia.
