Henry Aisquith petitions the court to extend the term of service for his slave Jarret and "to grant permission to sell him out of the state." Aisquith complains that the slave he purchased from Dr. Andrew Lynch "has been insolent to his mistress and the overseer" and has even "forbid the overseer striking him." Jarret has run away twice, despite the petitioner's warnings as to the consequences of said actions. The petitioner asks for relief "according to the act of assembly passed by the Legislature of Maryland."
