- Baltimore City, Maryland. filing started January 24, 1855.
- Court: Orphans
- Salutation: To the Honorable the Judges of the Orphans Court for Baltimore City
Abstract
Six-year-old Henrietta Right was indentured to Charles L. Kuster in 1847. She later became the apprentice of William Hackett who passed away shortly thereafter. Hackett's executor then assigned Right's indenture to Michael Moan. Now Right charges that Moan "is not a fit or proper person" to care for her. She maintains that she has been "dreadfully beaten" and has been "in fear of her life." She asks the court to subpoena Moan and for "such other relief as may to your Honors seem fit."
